Getting Around Aviemore - Local Buses, Taxis & Scenic Travel Tips

Train

Aviemore Railway Station, located conveniently on Grampian Road, offers excellent connections to and from Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and London.

Services are provided by ScotRail, LNER and the Caledonian Sleeper, with frequent daily departures.

The station offers helpful amenities such as a staffed ticket office ticket machines, waiting room, toilets, partial step-free access, cycle storage, free on-site parking.

Aviemore is well linked with National Coach Operators: 

For the local bus service, linking you to surrounding towns and villages use, Stagecoach. You will find their routes and timetables here.

Walking & Cycling

Most shops, restaurants, cafés, and attractions are within a short stroll of the town centre. Well-maintained pavements and signposted paths make getting around simple and enjoyable.

For those looking to stretch their legs further, you can walk directly from the village into nearby woodlands, riverside walks, and even onto longer routes like the Speyside Way.

By Car

Travelling by car is the most flexible ways to reach the area and explore once you are here. Situated just off the A9 - the main road through Scotland.
